Saankhya Labs and One Media Sinclair Showcase ATSC 3.0 Broadcast Radio Head at NAB Show 2019

Saankhya Labs, in collaboration with One Media Sinclair, unveiled their innovative Broadcast Radio Head designed for ATSC 3.0 at the NAB Show 2019 in Las Vegas. This state-of-the-art radio head is engineered for installation on cell towers, offering a coverage radius of up to 12 miles from a 100–150 feet tower. A coverage study conducted in Baltimore suggests that deploying 50 to 60 such radio heads would be sufficient to provide comprehensive coverage for the market.

The ATSC 3.0 standard is poised to revolutionize the broadcasting industry. A coalition of leading broadcast TV station groups has announced plans to roll out ATSC 3.0 in the top 40 U.S. markets by the end of 2020. These deployments build on successful initial rollouts and tests conducted in markets such as Phoenix, Dallas, Baltimore, and Santa Barbara, California, among others, marking a significant step forward in next-generation broadcast technology.
