The Journey Towards 6G
Intelligent and Sustainable
6G: Beyond higher bandwidth
6G technology evolution is not a single breakthrough—it is a continuous process of transformation that builds on the foundations of 5G and 5G-Advanced. While previous generations focused primarily on higher data rates and lower latency, 6G is expected to introduce AI-native networks, integrated sensing and communication, significantly improved energy efficiency, and seamless convergence of terrestrial and non-terrestrial connectivity. Through active participation in 3GPP and ITU-R standards, Tejas Networks contributes to the technologies and frameworks shaping the future of intelligent, sustainable, and ubiquitous communications.
As network requirements continue to evolve, 6G aims to make networks more context-aware, autonomous, and resource-efficient. Advances in distributed intelligence, sensing capabilities, and network sustainability will enable communications infrastructure that can adapt dynamically to changing operating conditions while supporting new applications and services that extend beyond traditional connectivity.

What Will 6G Deliver?
As the RAN technology evolves from 5G to 5G-Advanced to 6G, it’ll become more sustainable, AI-native, and context-aware.
Immersive Communication
6G is expected to support interactive, multi-sensory communication experiences that go beyond audio and video, including haptic feedback and extended reality applications requiring very high throughput and ultra-low latency.
Integrated Sensing & Communication
6G radio systems are being designed to simultaneously transmit data and sense their environment — detecting objects, measuring distances, and building situational awareness using the same spectrum and infrastructure used for communication.
Ubiquitous Connectivity
6G is expected to achieve seamless integration between terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, ensuring reliable connectivity across geographies and environments where current networks are absent or unreliable.
Al Native
6G is being designed from the ground up with artificial intelligence as a core architectural principle. AI-native operation means that intelligence is distributed across the network — from the radio unit to the core — enabling autonomous optimisation and adaptation at every layer.
Sustainability
Energy efficiency is a primary design objective in 6G. Intelligent sleep modes, dynamic power management, and hardware efficiency are central to how 6G radio systems are being specified.
Massive Communication
6G is expected to support a new generation of sensors and connected devices across industrial, agricultural, and urban environments, extending the scale and diversity of the connected ecosystem well beyond current IoT capabilities.
