Service Providers often desire the availability of Ethernet Based LAN Connectivity at all manned stations to meet the intra organization communication requirements. This can be provided through the same network over Tejas products of equipment. This not only makes the management a lot simpler, but also reduces latency and unpredictability of the network leading to better QoS.
LAN set-up across multiple locations
Tejas' solution for Ethernet transport over SDH/SONET supports Layer 2 switching; hence no physical Ethernet port is required for Switching. This not only reduces the initial investment but also makes the network simpler and more manageable by having lesser number of network elements. Also, at each node the LAN data can be multiplexed for network efficiency. The Tejas Ethernet cards suite supports aggregation of Fast-Ethernet traffic from a number of points into one Gigabit-Ethernet uplink, thereby reducing the number of interfaces required in the edge router that handles the LAN traffic.
Tejas equipments support VLAN Bridging, which enables the creation of user groups within a LAN segment. This allows the customer to run different LANS on the same network with no mixing of traffic.
