Support for higher Quality of Service
|
Tejas products allow Service Provider networks to prioritize Ethernet flows into 8 Classes of Service. Service Providers can then use a wide range of Scheduler Algorithms (Strict Priority, Weighted round robin, Weighted fair queuing) to ensure Frame delay, Frame Delay Variation and Frame Loss thresholds of each flow are met. A lower number of classes of service, say 4 classes, would have implied that the Service Provider would have been forced to map all the services into 4 priorities, limiting the Quality of Service that can be provided.
