A multicast service is one where the same data is sent to a group of users simultaneously. In an IP-TV network, a given channel is multicast to all the subscribers who are currently viewing the channel. Tejas products support the efficient transmission of multicast services through support for Multicast groups and IGMP snooping. IGMP Snooping enables automatic re-configuration of multicast tables which reduces channel-changing time.
