MEF Certification |
All Tejas products are certified to meet the Metro Ethernet Forum's (MEF) MEF 9 and MEF 14 specifications. While MEF 9 certifies that the Tejas equipment is capable of delivering the full range of MEF services (Ethernet Private Line, Ethernet Virtual Private Line, and Ethernet LAN services), MEF 14 certifies the Traffic Management abilities of the Tejas equipment.
This implies that all Tejas Products meet stringent requirements for acceptable Delay, Delay Variation and Frame-loss, required to deliver carrier-class data services. These parameters are key to setting up a network to ensure that even critical traffic like VoIP, Video etc. can be efficiently services by the network. MEF certification assures that these parameters are well-within acceptable levels. |  |
As a result of building a network using certified equipment, the Service Provider also satisfies the "Pre-requisite" condition of having "MEF-compliant" equipment required to get the Service Provider's services MEF-certified. With Tejas equipment in place, the Service Provider can be assured of an easier MEF-certification run, and can consider MEF certification at any point in the future.
