Carrier Ethernet : TJ2110

High Capacity Carrier Ethernet Core Switch

Overview: TJ2110 is a fully redundant Carrier Ethernet Switch for Core Networks. It can aggregate traffic from multiple 10 and 1 GigE rings, and send to towards a meshed core over multiple 10GigE interfaces.

Ideal Environment: TJ2110 is ideal for Core Edge where it aggregates traffic from multiple 10GigE aggregation rings towards the core. It can also run as a standalone central switch for smaller networks where it provides any-to-any connectivity between multiple 10GigE rings. A part of this traffic can also be going towards a gateway IP/MPLS router. This is typical of university campus networks.

High capacity switching: With support for 160Gbps packet fabric, it ensures switching of packet traffic between multiple 10Gbps rings at wire speed. This enables it to be deployed as an aggregator for upto 40Gbps of traffic (40Gbps from aggregation side and 40Gbs toward the core).

50ms protection: With support for ITU-T G.8031 and G.8032, TJ2110 supports both path and ring protection within 50 ms. This enables reliable and disruption free network in the event of failures.

Connection oriented Ethernet:TJ2110 supports connection oriented ethernet which enables traffic engineered end-to-end circuits to be provisioned across the network. These circuits can have service parameters like CIR (committed information rate),EIR (excess information rate) and 50ms protection. The concept of a connection in a packet switched network is very useful for providing tunnels for specific applications, providing bandwidth and latency guarantees, and for security.

Ethernet OAM: Allows real-time monitoring of endto-end circuits, connections or trunks, enabling quick detection of faults and isolating of fault to a particular subnet, trunk, link or node. Leads to substantial Opex savings

Hierarchical Quality of Service: Allows Service Provider to control bandwidths and latencies on a per service and per application level. Thus within a single service, bandwidth, latency and reliability gurantees can be provided per application. By mixing and matching these parameters, new revenue generating services can be offered or existing services can be differentiated
