TJ2000 is a series of Carrier Ethernet Switching equipment, consisting of access, edge and aggregation platforms. Tejas Networks has designed and developed this series to offer the advantages of Ethernet in the WAN, to our customers. The TJ2000 series enables highly-scalable Ethernet switched networks to support services like Consumer Triple Play, IPTV, Mobile Video and 3G /WiMAX Backhaul, among others. With SONET/SDH-like comprehensive fault and performance management as well as support for the industry’s first standardized sub-50ms Ethernet protection, the TJ2000 series leads the way to an all-Ethernet Transport Network.
Latest Technology
The TJ2000 series is based on a suite of cutting edge technologies, only recently standardized by leading technology agencies like IEEE, ITU and MEF. TJ2000 implements Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB, standardized as IEEE 802.1ah) to provide highly scalable networks. It also supports Ethernet Transport Network (ETN) based on a new connection-oriented Ethernet protocol, Provider Backbone Bridges – Traffic Engineered (PBB-TE, standardized as IEEE 802.1Qay) or more commonly referred to as PBT in the industry. Carrier-class protection is provided by Ethernet Linear Protection Switching (ELPS, standardized as ITU G.8031) and Ethernet- Shared Protection Ring (E-SPRing, standardized as ITU G.8032). TJ2000 also brings the latest and best in Ethernet Operations, Administration and Management (OAM) by using Connectivity Fault Management (CFM, standardized as IEEE 802.1ag) and Ethernet Performance Management (EthOAM, standardized as ITU Y.1731)
Superior Reliability
The TJ2000 series comes with in-built support for 50ms protection of traffic. Using technologies like E-SPRing and ELPS, the TJ2000 series provides the operator with top-of-the-line network reliability. Our protection schemes protect not just unicast traffic but multicast traffic as well and are able to provide this in a highly bandwidth efficient manner. TJ2000 also brings Carrier-Class OAM features based on CFM. The OAM functionality enables operators to quickly isolate faults and greatly ease network management. Performance monitoring based on EthOAM gives the operator a deep insight into the health of the Ethernet circuit, thus enabling pre-emptive corrections as well as offering transparency in the circuit’s performance.
Applications & Services
With products ranging from the compact customer premise equipment to high capacity fully redundant systems, the TJ2000 series meets all the requirements for building an Ethernet based transport network. TJ2000 is armed with functionality to enable next generation services which bring new revenue streams to the service provider. It is the ideal platform for delivering high-availability point-to-point and multipoint to multipoint services. For Consumer Triple Play, TJ2000 brings value by supporting protected rings to optimize bandwidth as well as native support for multicast. On the other hand, to support time-critical services such as VoIP and Circuit Emulation, the operators can create Point-to-Point CBR (Constant Bit Rate) Services over Traffic Engineered Ethernet trunks, using PBB-TE. The same equipment can simultaneously provide various services, giving the operator considerable flexibility to offer differentiated services.
