The TJ3500 is a carrier grade, high capacity C/DWDM Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) for metro, regional and long haul applications. Tejas TJ3000 series of products are characterized by a unique ability to combine SDH/SONET, Ethernet Switching, CWDM and DWDM technologies in the same enclosure.
The TJ3500 chassis has redundant fan units as well as primary power modules with front face connections. The card cage has 17 slots for plug-in units,e.g. Transponders, MuxPonders, Multiplexing-Demultiplexing Units, Amplifiers etc. A variety of service interfaces such as STM-1/4/16/64, DVB, 1G/2G FC, ESCON, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are supported. Up to 17 full-sized cards and 10 half-sized cards can be housed in a 10U enclosure.
TJ3500 can be managed using a Control Unit that contains the node management software and provides an aggregated management view of all units within the chassis. The Control Unit has a backup-copy of all Traffic unit configurations and upon a board replacement, the previous configuration and correct software version can be downloaded to the new Traffic Unit. Similarly, all Traffic units have a backup-copy of the Control Unit configuration ensuring ease of configuration.
