Sanjay Nayak, CEO, Tejas Networks speaks at the 20th MAIT Annual Session.
Bangalore, India, April 28-29, 2003: Sanjay Nayak, CEO, Tejas Networks speaks at the 20th MAIT Annual Session on the topic “Designed in India - Made for the World: Success Stories in Embedded Systems, Designs and Products”.
Abstract of Talk
Despite a global slowdown in telecom, the Indian telecom market is experiencing significant growth. The Indian telecom operators are demanding the latest technology products at the most competitive prices. In a scenario where global telecom equipment companies are cutting back their R&D costs and focusing only on the high ROI spectrum of the market, there is a unique opportunity for Indian companies to develop leading-edge products that are designed in India, have direct relevance to the Indian market and have great potential for the global telecom market.
Founded in 2000, Tejas Networks is leading the trend for Indian companies moving up the value chain and developing state-of-the-art optical networking products, leveraging India’s well-acknowledged engineering talent, that has traditionally been used providing software/design services to international companies. In addition to a world-class R&D team with expertise in Software, ASIC/FPGA, Embedded system and Hardware Design, Tejas also has a strong team in marketing, sales and professional services, to provide entire life-cycle support services to its customers.
Tejas has developed a suite of TJ100 range of next-generation SDH/SONET optimal multiplexors and switches that enable telecom carriers to build intelligent, converged networks that support traditional voice based services as well as new data dominated services – at substantial cost savings. In addition to savings in capex and opex, Tejas products enable new revenue-generating services such as Bandwidth-on-demand and Ethernet leased lines.
Tejas has achieved significant success in its short history. It has acquired 10 new telecom carrier customers (in India as well as internationally) over the past 12 months against global competition, has the unique distinction of rolling out India’s first Ethernet-over-SDH network using its TJ100 products and has built South Asia’s first intelligent DWDM network.
