Tejas Networks wins TEMA Award for Excellence in Innovation
Award recognizes most promising technology innovator in India
Bangalore, May 18, 2007 – Tejas Networks, an emerging leader in next-generation optical networking products, announced today that it has received the TEMA (Telecom Equipment Manufacturer’s association) Award for Excellence in Innovation 2007 from Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications & IT on the occasion of World Telecom & Information Society Day, May 17th, 2007.
This award, instituted by the TEMA, acknowledges the most outstanding technological innovation that has brought prestige to India. It is awarded to technology that is developed in the country by Indian innovators and meets the highest global standards. Technologies leading to commercially successful products, processes and services, which give India a sustainable competitive advantage, are considered for the award.

TEMA selected the winner after rigorously evaluating several Indian technology companies through a careful analysis of a variety of parameters including technology innovation, commercial success, execution of strategy and dedication to research and development. The TEMA National Telecom Awards 2007 was held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications & IT, along with many senior officials from TEMA.
