TEJAS NETWORKS SHIPS OUT 100,000TH MEF COMPLIANT ETHERNET PORT
Bangalore, March 19, 2007 – Tejas Networks, an emerging leader in next-generation optical networking products, today announced the shipment of the 100,000th Ethernet port compliant to the Metro Ethernet Forum’s MEF 9 (Carrier Ethernet Service Tests) and MEF 14 (Traffic Management Certification) technical specifications.
"We are delighted that we have crossed a major milestone of shipping 100,000th MEF Compliant Ethernet port. This is a significant endorsement of the confidence that our customers have in our products, since our equipment is deployed for generating high-value, mission-critical Ethernet services," said Sanjay Nayak, CEO & Managing Director, Tejas Networks. “Our equipment is deployed in every major telecom network in India and many carriers around the world. We have had several major shipments since being MEF certified in Dec 2006 which include top carriers such as VSNL, BSNL & Bharti”.
The MEF–14 Test Suite for Traffic Management ensures conformance to the MEF Quality of Service (QoS) attributes, which provides a foundation for the implementation of Service Provider operational and performance Service Level Agreements (SLA) supporting simultaneous real- time and data-intensive business applications. MEF-9 includes specific tests to validate the services and attributes of EPL, EVPL, or E-LAN services. These provide point-to-point (EPL or EVPL) or multipoint (E-LAN) Metro Ethernet services.
