Tejas Networks augments its senior management team.
Appoints Harmeet Singh to lead International Business Development


Bangalore, India, March 12, 2007: - Tejas Networks today announced the appointment of Dr. Harmeet Singh as Vice President, International Business Development. Prior to joining Tejas, Harmeet was the Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer of Optovia which was acquired by JDSU. Prior to Optovia, Harmeet led the transmission system and optical component teams at Nortel Networks which he joined through the acquisition of Qtera Corp. “We have seen significant success both in the highly competitive Indian market with our range of next-generation SDH products and we are now focusing to aggressively grow our international business”, said Sanjay Nayak, CEO, Tejas Networks. “We are pleased to have Harmeet join as a part of our senior management team. Harmeet brings in a wealth of global experience and will play a key role in leading our business development efforts internationally, as we strive towards growing Tejas into a global leader in this segment of the market”. About Harmeet Singh
Harmeet’s experience includes general management, product management and R&D at industry leading companies such as Optovia, Nortel Networks, Qtera Corporation and 3M Corporation. At Optovia, which he founded in 2002 he served as the CEO and led the company through its early stages to maturity, closing several Tier 1 accounts. Optovia was sold to JDSU in 2006. Prior to that Harmeet led the transmission system and optical component teams at Nortel Networks which he joined through the acquisition of Qtera Corp in January 2000. At Qtera, he was a key contributor in architecting one of the earliest OC192 ultra long haul products. Previously, he held various positions at 3M Company where he worked in Product Management, Development and Operations role and was instrumental in helping launch new products. Harmeet holds a Bachelor degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, a PhD from University of Maryland, College Park and has had executive education in Finance from Harvard Business School.
