Bangalore, India, April 28-29, 2003: Dr. Kumar N. Sivarajan, CTO, Tejas Networks spoke at Elitex 2003. His talk focused on the developments in next-generation optical networking technology, the need to provide cost-effective solutions for deploying data services over an SDH/SONET network infrastructure especially for providing Ethernet/IP services, the emergence of DWDM as a technology of choice for high capacity backbone networks. Also discussed were issues such as the use of optics for switching and the developments in the control and management of optical networks, including the currently evolving Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) standards.
About Tejas Networks
Founded in 2000, Tejas Networks develops software-differentiated, next-generation SDH/SONET products that enable telecommunication carriers to converge traditional voice-based networks with the new data-dominated networks- all at substantial cost savings. Tejas products are being used to address the bottleneck of distributing bandwidth from the high-capacity backbones, in addition to their use in building regional backbone networks.
