Tejas Networks, a leader in next-generation optical networking products, announced today that it has received the prestigious CSIR (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) Diamond Jubilee Technology Awards 2006, from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
This award, instituted by the CSIR, acknowledges the most outstanding technological innovation that has brought prestige to India. It is awarded to technology that is developed in the country by Indian innovators and meets the highest global standards. Technologies leading to commercially successful products, processes and services, which give India a sustainable competitive advantage are considered for the award.

CSIR selected the winner after rigorously evaluating several Indian technology companies through a careful analysis of a variety of parameters including technology, commercial success, quality of management, financial performance, execution of strategy and dedication to research and development. The award ceremony was held at the Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Minister of Science and Technology Shri. Kapil Sibal and Director General of CSIR, Dr. Mashelkar, along with many senior officials and eminent scientists.
